ATLAS for ALUM

 

Hekman Library is pleased to announce that the ATLAS for ALUM program is now available without cost for all alumni of Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary.

ATLAS for ALUM, funded through a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., provides access to ATLASerials® (ATLAS®), an online collection of more than 140 major religion and theology journals, ranging from popular journals such as Christianity Today and Christian Century to scholarly journals such as the Journal of Biblical Literature and Theology Today. This resource contains more than 240,000 articles and book reviews going back as early as 1924.

This database will greatly benefit Calvin alumni in all areas of ministry, including preparation for preaching, teaching and researching topics of special interest.

Is the Calvin Theological Journal available on ATLAS?
Yes. In the "Advanced Search" mode, simply enter "Calvin Theological Journal" as a "Source" and search by year, author, subject, title, or keyword.

ATLA and Textweek Expand Relationship to now offer EBSCOhost links to ATLAS® Recommended Articles

Chicago, IL, February 3, 2010--The American Theological Library Association (ATLA) is pleased to announce the completion of a major article recommendation project  with The Text This Week (available at http://www.textweek.com), a popular ecumenical web site for clergy and congregations that features a wide variety of resources for scripture study, reflection, and liturgy.

Ms. Jenee Woodard, Editor of The Text This Week, expertly and methodically searches ATLAS, an online collection of more than one hundred and fifty journals, for the most relevant and current ATLAS article recommendations for the entire three year liturgical calendar. These articles are ideal for sermon preparation and liturgical study.

Login Instructions

Access to ATLAS requires a library card.  If you need a free alumni library card, follow the instructions on the library web site.

To access ATLAS when not on Calvin's campus:

  1. Login to your library account on the catalog, using your entire library card barcode (14 digits) as both username and password
  2. Open the "Alumni Resources" tab
  3. Follow the provided link to ATLAS
