Where to Start
Looking for a quick review of a recently released bestseller? Try one of the research databases that cover popular magazines and newspapers, or check out Amazon.com.
If you're looking for a more in-depth review from a scholarly journal, search a research database with scholarly or peer-reviewed coverage such as JSTOR or Project Muse.
For reviews of an older book, you also may want to try the suggestions under "Print Indexes."
Note that books will often be reviewed in many non-academic or trade publications as well as websites, which may give very brief reviews or perhaps only summaries. Examples of publications to avoid if you are looking for in-depth reviews:
BestSellers
Booklist
Choice
Horn Book Magazine
Kirkus Reviews
Library Journal
Newsweek
Time Magazine
