Resources for Finding and Evaluating Biblical Commentaries

The box on the right provides links to several major commentaries on each book of the Bible. Remember that biblical commentaries vary widely, with different interpretative points of view, and varied emphases. Some focus more closely on theological interpretation; some have a greater interest in historical or literary issues; others have a greater focus on devotional or homiletical (preaching) matters. Some are geared toward scholars with skill in using original languages.
