WebCat Search Tips 

WebCat includings records for books, movies, government documents, and other types of materials owned by Hekman Library. 

It also includes records for periodical titles but not periodical articles.  To search for periodical articles, use the library's Research Databases.

The KEYWORD selection will retrieve records containing the word(s) or phrase you entered.

The BROWSE selection will retrieve lists of author, title, subject, journal title, or series headings.

The following are used in conjunction with KEYWORD and BROWSE:

• SEARCH EVERYTHING (KEYWORD only) retrieves records of all library materials containing the word(s) or phrase in any indexed field.
• AUTHOR retrieves records of all library materials using all or part of an author's name.
• TITLE retrieves records of all library materials using all or part of a title.
• SUBJECT retrieves records of all library materials using all or part of a subject (based on Library of Congress subject headings).
• SERIES retrieves records of all library materials that are part of a series.
• PERIODICAL TITLE retrieves records of all library periodicals (journals, magazines, serials) using all or part of a title.
